Underfloor Heating in London, Overlay

Most underfloor heating systems are either warm water (wet) systems or electric (dry) systems. Underfloor heating can be laid on solid floors, floating floors, suspended floors, and an overlay can be laid on existing floors. If you install a wet system, the pipes are usually laid and then buried in a screed or run underneath the floor covering. The wet system operates by heat being transferred from the water which is circulated through the pipes under the floor surface. This results in the whole floor surface being kept at the same temperature. Most systems use water between 45 & 65c, warming the floor to a comfortable 25-28c. The dry system uses Electrotherm Electric Mats in which a heating element will heat the floor surface.

Benefits
  • Floor heating heats the entire floor evenly which eliminates the “draughts blowing across the floor”
  • You will generally save up to 15% on your heating bills
  • Modern systems are very economical to run and are very low maintenance
  • This heating system is under floor which enables you to have the freedom to design your room without radiators
  • In some countries underfloor heating is used in approximately 70% of all heating installations.
